Biography
Renata Kopac is an artist and art educator based in London, working from ACME Studios. She holds two Master’s degrees in Fine Art Education and Museum and Galleries Management. Her practice centres on vibrant, expressive painting and explores the boundary between abstraction and figuration. Working primarily in oils, she builds compositions layer by layer, creating depth, movement, and emotional resonance. For Renata, painting is central to her existence and an essential part of her identity. Colour is the driving force in her work. It shapes the mood, structure, and emotional intensity of each painting, while guiding her exploration of gesture, abstraction, and meaning. She is drawn to the physicality of paint: the texture of brushstrokes, the movement of the hand, and the direct relationship between body, material, and canvas. Her paintings develop through spontaneous yet thoughtful mark making. Each brushstroke carries its own momentum, shifting between long and short, splattered and scraped, controlled and hurried. This sense of unpredictability allows the work to grow organically, balancing structure with movement, instinct, and emotion.
