The Memories of Touch explores the nude body through colour and form rather than direct realism. The figures are simplified into soft, rounded shapes, creating a sense of intimacy, closeness, and quiet movement. Although the paintings appear as flat surfaces, they are built through many layers of oil paint beneath the final image, allowing the colour to gain richness, depth, and intensity over time. Through these layered surfaces, the work reflects the physical and emotional memory of touch: how bodies hold presence, warmth, vulnerability, and connection. The bold colours give the composition energy, while the abstracted forms allow the painting to feel both personal and universal. Rather than presenting the nude as a fixed image, the work becomes a study of sensation, memory, and human closeness.
